Silverton livin for the next week or so! Marshell and I rolled up around 4:30PM to our go to Cement Creek bus home spot! We took a quick lap before dark! There was a gulch next to where we park that I had never really seen before. Just a super long and low angled drainage. We hiked a little over halfway up it and tucked into the trees looking for POW! Hiked up a little bit and both of us were not feeling it so turned around and made our transition! The sun was down over the ridges at this point and it was starting to get dark. We smoked a J and drank some hot tea while we transitioned. Threw our headlamps on and sent a night lap down the gully!! The first few turns in the trees were POW, then it was that crusty crusty the rest of the ski down. Still a great time! Great to be back in Silverton!
Snow Report
In between Silverton Ski Area and the EPA clean up site on Cement Creek on the West side of the road. No new snow. Very sun effected. Everything was crust, except for North facing trees. Difficult crust to ski on, but still taking turns! No signs of unstable snow. Storm rolling in. Crust layer should make for very unstable storm slabs!
I just started putting snow reports at the bottom of the days post. I am no snow expert. We are just out here getting after it everyday and I would love to share my observations to the beautiful ski community!! Be safe! Take faceshots!!!!!
