Sled laps for the boys!!! Kevin, Karl, Julien, Marshell, JP, Alex, and I all went up to Mennehaha Basin for some sled laps! We had to shuttle a bunch to get everyone riding, but that is what the day was all about!! Friend day in the backcountry! We started the day with a beacon drill!!! Good practice! Wanted Kevin to go through a drill. Then we took laps!! We all got a bunch of laps in!!! Skiing four deep in the trees!! It was a totally blank canvas up there! Nobody else was up there before us!! We started dropping in at the first shot and just kept working our way down the ridge! Fresh tracks every time!!!!! Kevin did so well out there!!! Amazing day with all the best friends!!! Getting after it out there! Mad laps, smoking koosh, and eating delicious sammys!!! What we live for out there!!!! Perfect day! Back down in Durango for a reggae show! The Green at the Animas City Theatre!!! Ski bum life!!!!!
Snow Report
Mennehaha Basin area. No new snow. No signs of unstable snow in the trees. South face in the basin felt good on the snowmobile as well. Storm slab seemed to have settled. Calm day down low for wind. High winds up high on the ridges and peaks coming from the South.
I just started putting snow reports at the bottom of the days post. I am no snow expert. We are just out here getting after it everyday and I would love to share my observations to the beautiful ski community!! Be safe! Take faceshots!!!!!
