Dug the bus out! She was deeeeep! Took us all morning to get the bus out and packed up. Once we got out we headed up to the top of Red Mountain Pass. The plan was to set up a highline in US Basin, but preparation and timing did not work out. While we were out there Marshell gave me a couple bumps! Got the sled back!!!!!!! I skied the Southwest face of US Basin! Took two laps! Got up pretty high on the face for the second shot!!! Super cool shred!!! It is a blank canvas in the basin right now!!!! Looooong laps going anywhere you want! Short day, but always perfect being out in the backcountry!!!! We went back to the bus for dinner and chilled out! Then the full moon came out and the eclipse began!! We took short laps on the snowmobile right by the bus!!! So rad skiing during the lunar eclipse!!! We also got some cool photos! Such a cool time!! Night laps under the lunar eclipse full moon, drinking hot chocolate, and chilling with friends!!!
Snow Report
US Basin. No new snow. Sunny and windy. Wind seemed like it was coming from the South-Southwest. The Southwest face skied great! No signs of unstable snow. Felt like I could have gone all the way up, but too scared of this snowpack. The SW snow was wind buffed, but not crusty at all and skied very smooth.
I just started putting snow reports at the bottom of the days post. I am no snow expert. We are just out here getting after it everyday and I would love to share my observations to the beautiful ski community!! Be safe! Take faceshots!!!!!
