Teton Pass! Tidal Waves of POW

Magic on Teton Pass!! Amazing day with Marshell and Cooper! We skied a zone called Happy Trees. Parked up on the South side of the road at a pull off just shy of the top of Teton Pass, before the main Glory Bowl shot. Skinned in for the first lap just over an hour. Got pretty high up on the ridge and skied the South-Southeast shots! We topped out at 9,055ft and made the transition. After the first lap we recycled our skin track back up the ridge, but skied sooner than the first lap. Skiing more directly fall line to the skin track rather than traversing at the end. We hot lapped for the rest of the day only taking like twenty minutes to skin back up! The snow was so deeeeeeep! Disappearing into tidal waves all day!!! Felt so good to ski that deep of snow!! Thank you Jackson!!! We took four laps on the day! We called the first line “Main Course”, the second and third area “Home Fries”, and the last shot was “Dessert”!! And yummmmmmmm it was so tasty! Incredible day! Great to be back out there skinning! Deeeeeep skin track setting! Love that shit!! These are the days we live for! Maybe deepest day of the year so far!!! I am lost in La La Land, traveling around in my magic Pow Bus, chasing snow storms!

Snow Report

Teton Pass, Jackson side. New snow 25-30cm overnight. Another 13-15cm within the four hours we were out there. Deep blower pow on the S-SE aspects! Up top on the first lap I started to feel a bit uneasy about the snowpack. It definitely changed from the whole skin up. It changed around 8,850ft-8,900ft. We also were becoming more East facing up top. There was like a weird wind slab or something, not totally sure ,just felt weird. The snow was cracking more, not across slope or anything, just breaking from the skin track more than it was the rest of the way up. No signs of unstable snow while skiing. Snowing hard all day. 20F-25F. Southwest winds about 20-30MPH and stronger up high on ridges and peaks.

I just started putting snow reports at the bottom of the days post. I am no snow expert. We are just out here getting after it everyday and I would love to share my observations to the beautiful ski community!! Be safe! Take faceshots!!!!!
