Splitboarding is the answer!! Silverton Splitfest is this weekend!! Splitboarding festival put on by Venture for companies and shredders to come out, demo boards, shred POWCORN, and party!! Lee, Colin, and I shredded the South face of King Solomon!! Awesome corn skiing off the peak! We saw two mountain goats when we summited!! Started up County Road 52, I believe it is, across from the Mayflower Mill. Skinned all the way up that road till we came below the first South shot up King Solomon. Then we cramponned up that to the ridge! That was brutal up top breaking through the snow just swimming!! We hit the ridge and threw all our shit down and chilled for a bit! Smashed water, a sammy, and bugles!!! Then we finished up the ridge to the summit! That was steep and a bit scary!! Some class four class five climbing in variable loose snow on rocks in crampons!! HA! Yeeeeea!! Hit the summit, saw two goats, and shredded our line looking down on Silverton and the Venture factory!! Then we hiked back up a bit and skied a West facing slide path of corn down to the Animas River for a funny cross through the water!! Perfect Splitfest day!!
