HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARSHELL!! Karl, Marshell, and I took the snowmobile up to  Mennehaha Basin! Because of the sketchy avalanche activity in the North facing trees we just yo yo lapped the shit out of the South face dropping in up on the same ridge!! It was creeeeeamy!! Built a little kicker into the line too!! After feelin really good about the South facing snow we decided to ski up higher off of the ridge of Bonita Peak. Marshell and I hiked up there and Karl filmed from below. Super cool line!!!! Got ourselves a little big line in ahahaha birthday lines!! That was some real snowboarding!!! POWWWWW

Snow Report

No new snow. Sunny about 30F. South facing was skiing good, but might be crusty tomorrow. Today we were staying really on top of the South stuff and it was soft. I dug a few hand pits. One on a Southwest wind loaded ridge above treeline that was breaking off easy on the facet layer. And two hand pits on a South slope above treeline that was hard to pull away from the facet layer. North facing was still cracking and wumpfing just getting close to it. Saw two new West and North natural avalanches that happened since yesterday afternoon in Mennehaha Basin. Both looked like wind slab avalanches.

I am no snow expert. We are just out here getting after it everyday and I would love to share my observations to the beautiful ski community!! Be safe! Take faceshots!! Colorado Avalanche Information Center is a great resource: https://avalanche.state.co.us/
