Sunny days and sled laps!! Another day up in the Hurricork zone! Karl, Marshell, Jack, and I went up Hurricane and snowmobile ski lapped the South face down to the Mogul mine. Celeste also caught a bump up to the lapping point to hang out and snowshoe around! The face was pretty much reset and skied great!! Creamy sun pow on top of the crust below! All of us got three or four laps! Jack and I got a really sick shot on the drone of him and I dropping into the same gully from different aspects slashing wind features as we came into the gully together!! That was a hella fun lap!!! We also got some more cool drone shots!! Such a blast being out there on the sunny days!! I have really gained an appreciation for these sunny days! Skiing, snowmobiling, hangin with friends, fresh POW, sandwiches, snacks, koosh, beer, drones, and Bubba the Dog!! Does not get any better than that!! Storm on the way! PRAY TO DAS SNOW GODS!!!!!
Snow Report
No new snow. Partly sunny about 0C. Calm winds. Face had 15-20cm untouched from two nights ago. Did not get too sun affected. Not much crust, but I am sure tomorrow will be. The sun helped soften things up today. South skied creamy. East snow was crusty. Lots of small natural wet release avalanches on East to South faces. Wind loaded slopes E-S. Snow felt good on low angle slopes.
I am no snow expert. We are just out here getting after it everyday and I would love to share my observations to the beautiful ski community!! Be safe! Take faceshots!! Colorado Avalanche Information Center is a great resource: https://avalanche.state.co.us/
