About

My name is Eddie Degitis and I love POW! Snowboarding is my life, splitboarding specifically! Everything I do is for the love of POW! In the winters I travel in my school bus chasing snow storms! In the summers I travel in my school bus adventuring mountains, beaches, and going to concerts! I grew up in Chicago, moved to Colorado in 2013, and my life changed forever! I currently live in a school bus, so I like to call everywhere home, but Durango is home base. I spend a few months of the year in Durango working as much as I can in order to drop everything and snowboard all winter long. I snowboard as an athlete for Chronic Boards, VonZipper, and RX Bars! I went to school at Fort Lewis College and graduated with an accounting degree. I worked in a public accounting firm up in Denver as an auditor for three months and knew there was no way that was for me and there was definitely no way it was going to work out in the winters. So I bought a snowmobile, quit the next day, and came back down to Durango to live in my Jeep.

Once the snow starts to fall, it is all on for me! The past few years I have fully dedicated my life to the POW, with every year getting better and better! I went to Alaska and worked for Valdez Heli Ski Guides as a cook the past three seasons. Every year, I make a long snowboard road trip, migrating up North, and sleeping in my home/vehicle. I will usually spend the beginning of the season living in the bus around Silverton and the surrounding areas. After that, the migration begins! My good friend and ski partner Marshell Thompson, @mellomarr and I will go all over the Western United States and Canada! Come end of February, I will head to Haines in Alaska to helicopter ski guide for Alaska Heliskiing. I will spend everyday up there in March and April hiking, flying, and shredding the coolest lines of my life! Once that is all over, I rush back down to Silverton to get whats left of the big lines before snowmelt!

I snowboard just about every single day from when it snows in Silverton in November until late May when I am back from adventuring. Most of the season is in the backcountry, with a few resort and heli days! Not only am I shredding everyday, in the evening, I am sitting in front of my laptop making an edit and checking out all the pictures. I put up an edit or a picture on social media about every day in the winter. I am doing this all over the country and still staying very consistent with social media! The times I am not posting is because I am in a hut or on top of a pass somewhere. My Instagram feed and Facebook are filled with powder adventures. I also have a Twitter, YouTube, and this website. Check out my Instagram @kooshpow to give you an idea of where my head is at! My crew that I ride with all fully understand how dedicated I am to the POW and what I want out of snowboarding, traveling, and filming. Between myself and all of them we have cameras, drones, and snowmobiles and are all in love with the backcountry. The content I put out just gets better and better with my snowboard adventures and I am looking forward to taking you along the way! Thank you so much for checking out my page! Enjoy the fun!
